act one
Chef and restauranteur Preston McCormick carries a young woman into the ER with multiple stab wounds. She dies on the table and the investigation of her death brings Detective William Wallace in for an interview. A series of after-hours conversations over food and wine find the two fascinated and intrigued by what the other does for a living.
act two
The dutiful staff of April, Felix and others become concerned as Preston presents symptoms of a neurological disorder later identified as Kuru which is encountered in some cultures from the consumption of too much human meat. As more locals go missing, things close in as a famous food critic also disappears having recently reviewed Preston’s restaurant. It is revealed that Felix is a more than a loyal sous chef and is an active participant in Preston’s sinister culinary processes.
Detective Wallace, having started a relationship with April and befriending Preston, comes under greater
pressure from his boss and must abandon his slow-walk profiling approach and get a suspect in custody.
act three
As Wallace prepares to make an arrest, an aware Preston's solution includes an invitation to a private party. The guest list is made up of wealthy clients who gather at the restaurant for exclusive dining experiences that include humans prepared in haute style. At the event, as wine and food are consumed, the truth about the club members, Preston, and his staff is revealed. Wallace gets a close and personal experience of the rendering process.
